Topic:
Cultivate Informal Assessment

Message:

Teachers need to stress informal, open-ended assessment. It is my opinion that if students have an in-depth knowledge of concepts, they will perform well in many different testing situations. If their knowledge is superficial and formula driven, then testing becomes more of an issue. I generally recommend to my education students that they concentrate on having their students problem solve and develop profound understanding of concepts so that they can respond appropriately to many different kinds of assessments.
