Uniting Schools, Parents, and Communitie

Message:
In many aspects of life you find "people working together to address what matters to them". Unfortunately, this is not always true in education. "We" can agree that sports and band are essential and that taxes should not go up, but we don't effectively unite on the methods of educating our youngsters. Teachers, students, parents and the community all have their own perspectives and "issues" - all of which contribute to the education of a child. "Life long learning" is a popular concept lately. The term "says it all". Teachers formally educate children for a very small percentage of their lives. Parents and the community have a much longer commitment. "We" should all be working together to "foster a healthier community". It is important for us to resolve our "turf wars" and work toward a comfortable collaborative relationship. Our children deserve (all of) our best efforts!
