Topic:
Introduce Our Panelists

Message:

I want to take this opportunity to introduce our distinguished panel of experts:

  • Richard Garcia of Boulder, Colorado, is the founder of the Colorado Statewide Parent Coalition. He is also a principal of a charter middle school. Richard feels that parent involvement is considered essential to the goal of producing literate and socially responsible students.

  • Robert "Sandy" Goodlett is the Executive Director of the Kentucky Office of Family Resource and Youth Service Centers. This national model program features over 700 centers statewide. Mr. Goodlett has also served as an Assistant Superintendent for the Anderson County (KY) School District.

  • Mary Jennings is a school administrator in the Stamford, CT School District. She served as principal for the Rogers Magnet School, which housed a nationally recognized Family Resource Center.

  • Deborah Zipkin is the Director of the Charter Oak Academy, a Family Resource Center, which was cited by "Working Mother" magazine (September, 1999) as "one of the ten best programs for today's families."

What an incredible group of experts who bring a rich and diverse perspective to our discussions on Family, Scholl and Community Partnerships.

I will be facilitating this discussion. I work with a number of national organizations that serve children and families. I was also the first Program Manager of Connecticut's Family Resource Center Program.

I am a firm believer in Family, School and Community Partnerships and I am looking forward to our discussions on the Knowledge Loom.
