School Administrator's Role

Message:
A school family partnership creates an environment in which members out-side of the community of learners become involved in the learning community. Through these collaborations an administrator no longer needs to believe that he/she must operate in isolation, must be the sole generator of ideas or implementor of programs. As a result of school, family and community involvement, mission and vision statements are collaboratively created, decision making is shared and program designs and responsibilities are supported by community leaders, parents, businesses and social agencies working together to build understanding and support among most stakeholders.
In the enormous task of educating families and their children "COLLABORATION" is the key. Collaboration reduces isolation and creates an effective group of supporters. Effective groups of supporters not only serve as a voice for collaboration but also play a key role in shaping systemic change, the development of effective policies and plan an execute effective programs. As stated in this Chinese proverb: Many hands make light "work." Therefore the "work" of an administrator is lightened when shared through family, business and community partners.
