Landmark Project Supports Critical Thinking

Message:
Each year one of our 4th grade classrooms participates in a collaborative online project called the Landmark Project. The format is similar to Country Capitals and the Explorer Game. Classrooms from all over the world participate. Each classroom selects a landmark somewhere in the world and writes a group of clues to identify the landmark. Each week a portion of the clues are sent out to all classrooms, who work to identify the various landmarks. This type of project motivates students unbelievably. The students locate resources, both traditional and electronic, read about landmarks around the world, match clues to individual landmarks and finally select and submit answers.
