Topic:
pride is key to student involvement

Message:
I have found that students are not going to want to get involved in their school if they do not have any school pride. It also seems that more problems are caused if involvement is forced upon people who truly do not have an interest in their school. This is why it is important to work from the inside out. Make your students feel pride in their school. Have a school clean-up day, where everyone participates in a school beautifying activity such as mural painting or cleaning up the playing fields. This will give all students a feeling of ownership and lead the way to increased involvement.
