Topic:
administrators should know what students want

Message:
As we've been reforming Kennebunk High School I've been amazed at how little the administrators--the people making the changes--know about what the students want. This is why student voice is crucial in the reform process. Even though teachers and administrators are surrounded by students all day, they are still very removed from how teenagers think and feel. Without student input, changes would not wholly reflect what really needs to be looked at. Students' input lets the administration know what is problematic and what works. Without their input, the reform process would be based on guess-work.
