helping "lost" students

Message:
There are a lot of kids that are "lost" and are in need of direction. I think faculty members have a lot of influence on students. My principal was very involved herself. If she knew about a certain student's accomplishments, she would stop him in the hallway and congratulate him. A student has to feel comfortable with his environment before he/she speaks up.
