Why not??

Message:
I don't see ANY reason why choice-based art would have to be modified for special needs students. The wonderful thing about choice-based art is that the students can work at their own level and their own pace to produce works that are THEIR OWN. Especially if the students are labelled (growl) "special needs", it is probably all the better that they have an environment in which to express their own thoughts and ideas. Carbon copy art is certainlky not going to help a special needs student to become less "needy." An advocate for art therapy as well, I have come to recognize the need for each student to be able to choose materials and styles with which they are comfortable, for that is what makes the artwork wonderful and makes them proud.
