Message:
In working with 80 principals in our NH Gates Leadership project, we introduced the change process with Michael Fullan's book and a "Who Moved My Cheese" activitiy (video and change activity). Many principals found it so useful, they are using the video and activity with their staffs. It acknowledges that change is a process and validates each person's position in that process. The most powerful part of it all is that is establishes a common vocubulary around the change for everyone. If people understand the change process and talk about it openly before taking on the new venture, it will help in the long term. Another good resource for the change leader is :"The Human Side of School Change--Rreform, Resistance, and the Real Life Problems of Innovation." by Robert Evans. Good Luck with your project!
