money doesnt buy everything

I definitely believe that you dont need to have alot of money to make your classroom resource rich. Sure it can help every once in awhile when its time to buy those really nice art supplies that would create some great art but there are also some cheaper ones out there as well.
Currently I work ten hours a week in a upper middle class suburban school where the art supplies seem to be endless. I must say its great to have everything at my reach when i need it to mount students work or create a classroom book. However I do find that the students attitude towards their art suppies differ very much from the students whom I taught in inner city Boston. The children in Mansfield really dont notice what great things they have all around the room, yet when you bring in a new pack of crayons to the schools in Boston, the childrens eye's light up.
To use the environment, leaves, sticks or any old item you can find around the house, clothes pins, bottle caps etc. and show the children what great art these little tidbits create it certainly widens their imagination.
Money isnt necessary for a great artroom; imagination is!!!
