Topic:
Opening of new school

Message:
My school is a K-8 school with 1200 students. It is a large facility but has the "small school feel"... created primarilly by having the "school within school concept". Locate all of one grade level in one corridor (space). Have support rooms (SPED, Title I, etc.) that service that grade level locted as close as possible to the "homerooms". Have corridor bulletin boards display student work (withy same theme) .... Work closely with the grade level teachers to create the "TEAM" concept. Have a cadre of parent volunteers that work with that grade level and support the team. Have each grade level "compete" for spirit points or sometiming (I tell more on this later if interested)... to create a sense of grade level community with the kids. There are more ways ... but the phone is ringing!
