Concerned that his science unit on plants and animals was not capturing his students' interest, fourth grade teacher Chris Rose thought technology integration might help him to create a more engaging unit that still met district and state standards. Partnering with media specialist Arlene Brown, Rose adapted his unit so that it covered research practices as well as science content and used technology to improve student learning. Rose and Brown identified a list of skills they wanted their students to master and fine-tuned this list after consulting the New Hampshire frameworks and their district's science and research proficiencies.
