Kirsten Johnson's work revolves around designing, implementing, and facilitating online professional development workshops for educators. At EDC's Center for Online Professional Education (COPE), her primary role is that of Associate Project Director of EdTech Leaders Online, an online professional development capacity-building program for educational organizations. This program of web-based online learning strengthens and extends existing professional development programs in K-12 school districts, regional educational service providers, and teacher preparation programs. She is currently working on developing the EdTech Leaders' Online Course Development program which enables K-12 organizations to develop and integrate online courses into their existing high school and professional development curricula. A former high school Language Arts teacher and publications advisor, Kirsten is committed to supporting both teacher and student learning, and has a history of developing technology-enhanced curriculum and providing professional development at the school, district, state, and national levels. She holds a B.A. in English Literature from Montana State University and an Ed.M. in Technology in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
When she's not online, Kirsten enjoys running, skiing, and playing Ultimate Frisbee.
